Hi Christine
THANK YOU! I am very appreciative of your time and detective work here.
Thanks also to "Ladyhawk" for additions.

Putting all this with the information I already have will keep me out of mischief for at least a day or two....

I spotted the 1861 census record too - must find George next time I'm at the archives (2 weeks time).

I still can't believe that Helena isn't in St. Cuthbert's but I checked three times!  Still thinking about where she will be (possibly Earsdon?)

One additional item about Isabella, the witness.  She could be Helena's older sister but I also spotted another Isabella Bell, parents John and Jane (John a master mariner) baptised in 1872.  Possible cousin to Helena?

Christine

Oooh- yes, will keep me out of mischief!
I did know about the Cadbury link, but the other stuff is news to me- not surprised he travelled to NZ, but why remains a mystery.

One question- what does the "reworn" mean...do you know?

Many thanks again!
Richard.

Sorry I have no idea  ??? He's the only name on the page that has Effects then the word Reworn

Perhaps it's to do with the increase in money ??? Effects £1614 14s. 2d. Reworn £1622 12s. 1d.

Surrey: Gosling (Richmond)

Hi Traveller

Welcome to rootschat  :D

Richard hasn't been on the site since November but unless he's changed his email address he should receive notification of your post and, hopefully, be in touch.
