Hi, I'm not a Welshman, but if you will accept a favour from an English woman living in North Wales, I will try to help.  Give me a day or two and I'll see what I can find.  Unless, of course, you get a better offer in the meantime!!   Jazgran

Hi Joanne.  This is just an "interim" report to say that I went to the cemetery and couldn't find the grave.  I phoned them later, the guy remembered that you had emailed and gave me directions as to where the plot actually is.  He did say that from what he remembered, the plot did not have a headstone.  The rain has been bad today but I intend to visit again with my new directions and will photograph what I can see, and the area around.  Will do my best for you.  Be in touch soon.   Jazgran.

Hi Jazgran,
Thankyou so much for your efforts so far, it is really kind of you.
How unfortunate that there may not be a headstone.
I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the local newspaper. they might have an archive.
Mary Roberts died 2/1/2004.
best wishes
Joanne :)

Hi

The local newspapers for that time are:
North Wales Pioneer
and
North Wales Weekly News.
Both are weekly local papers.

North Wales Weekly News - Vale Road, Llandudno Junction LL31 9SL
Executive editor  is linda.roberts@northwalesnews,.co.uk
Haven't got an address etc handy for the other paper.

Alternatively, there is the Conwy Archives, Lloyd Street, Llandudno
archifau.archives@conwy.gov.uk

I know they have older editions of the local papers, but not sure how recent they go to.

Regards
Jan

London - Sutton (Southwark/Clerkenwell), Phillips (Clerkenwell), Stone (Chelsea)
Suffolk - Turner & Rogers (Lavenham)

Hi Joanne.  I visited the cemetery again today and as feared, there is no headstone on the plot.  I have taken general photos of the area and if you would like to see these I can attach them to a message to you, or email them direct.  Please let me know.  Jazgran
