informant was son James

Her parents were James Cooper and Helen Weir

Her father and husband were both pottery kilnsmen by trade.

A possible for Sarah in 1861 and it is only a possible and would take into account the ages being slightly out on the census and her mother's name being mistranscribed as Helen/Ellen.Against that if the James on the 1901 is her brother then they were both born in England and her father is a potter.Chucking all those facts in this is the closest match I could find.

I forgot to mention,the Hugh Fearns that married in Beith in 1912 isn't your Hugh.His parents were James Fearns and Janet Stewart.

I found Hugh Fearns and Elizabeth Dickson married 1912 Beith his parents Michael Fearns and Sarah Cooper, got this info at NRH Edinburgh last Tuesday.
