Wallers of Yorkshire

I am looking for guidance in searching for the Wallers of Yorkshire.
I know that Thomas Waller (chr. 7 Nov. 1729 as per Lythe parish records) is my fifth great grandfather. He lived in Barnby in 1761.
I'm trying to determine his wife Ann's maiden name and confirm the names of their children (I have Rubin, Elizabeth and Thomas so far).
I'm also trying to find information on Thomas Sr. and Ann's parents and other ancestors.
I suspect there is more than one Waller family in Yorkshire and I'm not sure who belongs to which branch.
Any suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Can you confirm the baptism please.  I have Lythe PRs and there is no Thomas Waller baptised on, or near, the date you have given.  There is a baptism on IGI for Thomas Waller on 7 Nov 1729 in Dent, which is nowhere near Lythe - just seems strange that it is exactly the same date.

Thank you for your quick reply.

It seems the information I gave you in my posting was incorrect. My apologies.

I have a hand written tree made by an aunt.

She wrote  "Thomas Waller chr. of 7/11/1729 at Dent."
She then listed a child, Rubin (my direct ancestor) chr. 15/10/1761 at Lythe.
I checked a map and saw that Dent is quite a distance from Lythe, which is why I questioned whether my aunt had the correct family (she's been wrong before!).

We're wondering if perhaps Thomas of Dent is not Rubin's father as my aunt listed. Everything from Rubin forward to my mother is correct and can be sourced / documented.
