what occupation is a annalant

on the census it gave a occupation as an annulant cold anyone tell me what this is he then went on to be a vicar at the parish church
 :)

Hi John

Are you sure it doesn't say "Annuitant" - a person in reciept of an annuity (annual income) but not working.

no it was looked at in the lincoln local studies libary and the reference wasnt written down  iwas enquiring for a friend who hasnt a computer and has just started doing her family history  thanks for helping anyway
