Any info on Dungarvan families  Quann / Hyde / Noonan/ Coleman / Handrahan / Guerins. fro 1830's onwards. We do have some Census returns from 1901 & 1911, but we are looking for Parish records, Baptism,Marriage and Death Records. We also have a fair amount of info ourselves and would only be too happy to swap info to help others. Regards Steve

Hi Chris. Many thanks for the Griffiths Site. I've got the Griffiths stuff for Dungarvan and having the ability to check elsewhere on this site will be a help when looking outside of Dungarvan. We seem to be stumped with my wife's Great Grandfather John Guerins. He was born in Cappoquin around 1869 and its his contemporaries we are searching for. Guerins is not a particulaly Irish name ( although Guerin is quite popular around Cork for example ) but we seem to come to a dead end with his family. We have his war record and some of his own family after he was married and have visited his grave in Tralee but as for siblings  /parents etc. we have no clue. Thanks again for the info re the site and anything else you come across please let me know. Kind Regards Steve

Annie. Thanks so much for your reply. We've this family noted for some time. but because we only had the Ancestry listings of the children, we were unaware that their father was Denis Guerins. FreeBMD does list more children post 1901 but could you list me the stuff you have there and does it include an address. We always believed that they may be related but as you are aware you cannot take anything for granted in this game !!!!! Notes of interest are that John Guerins first son was called Denis, who lived till 1925 or so in Dungarvan, he had a son James who lived for only 18 months, and his wife was Bridget Hyde. He had other children Mary ( my wife's Grandmother ) Hannah, who died in infancy and possibly two other children ( according to the 1911 Census ).As Denis is fairly unusual where they came from I would suspect their father may be a Denis also but that is for further investigation.
Also if anyone has any thing on Pte Patrick T Guerins 32639 Leicestershire Regiment ( now quite possibly a son of Denis if they moved to Loughborough ) and  Pte M. Guerins 6213 Royal Munster Fusiliers (same regiment as John Guerins ) please contact us here.
Again Annie thanks for your help and keep up the great work you do here and your fine input to the Great War Forum. Best Regards Steve.
