Hi, I understand this post hasn't been active in a few years but I have come across it while looking for a Jonathan Jagger on my tree and was wondering whether this could possibly be the same Jonathan Jagger you are looking for. Jonathan on my tree arrived in Dunbar Edinburgh as a part of the North York Militia, the first record I can find for him is his marriage certificate from 1798 in Scotland, a couple of years after the birth of John Hirst. I understand we may be looking for different people but any further information would be much appreciated.
