Protestant McKnights from Aglish Early 1800s
« on: Tuesday 16 August 11 16:38 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find where my family comes from in Ireland.

An old family tree done by a pro says Waterford Co, which is a little odd since we've always been Protestant but whatever...

I talked to a librarian at Presbyterian Historical Society of Ireland who said that in the late 1850s all the McKnights in the Co lived in Aglish.

My family immigrated in 1836 to Canada, don't know what port, what ship or where they landed in Canada.

All I know is the patriarch William McKnight and his wife Margaret were born in the late 1700s in Ireland and that they had several kids, including my great great grandfather, before they left in 1836.

What are the odds that Aglish is where they're from?
