This site says they are Lapam or Lapalme 1861 census Hastings/Elzevir in 1861, but I can't find them
If we can find that entry it would surely help!!! Page numbers etc. are listed in url

THANK YOU, J.J.!!!  Yes, I'll betcha "Nelia" is Julia..........could definitely be a "J" that didn't quite make it below the line.  This is really exciting!!!  Being in Oregon, US I am not familiar with Ontario geography so need to research the distance between Bayfield/Russell/Hastings...all of this is just such excellent info, more than I've been able to find for many many years. So THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

I saw this earlier so decided to check it out...Too much same to be coincidence...Not that it helps too immensely but finding other pieces to a puzzle can help... For instance the use of middle names has been a bit of a hurdle for my searches, so I look for surnames only. I'd been looking for a Kate/Catherine but found this instead...
There is a marriage in the U.S. for an Anna E. MacDonald, father John, mother Julia La Palm
to an Arthur E. Irwin in 1903 U.S. Manhattan, New York

I believe the birth and death for William Meldrun/Meldman is the child of John and Julia. As Julia died just a few weeks after giving birth maybe complications or perhaps grief. Some of these old records are difficult to read.

Still trying to track down Julia before her marriage but she is proving to be quite elusive wish there was more information to go on.

   I'm pretty sure now that we have the right person in 1861...as July now has the J to prove that Nelia is actually Julia in the right birthing order...I also found young Charles from 1881 marrying a Julia and she is down as Julyee and daughter July as well, so it seems to be a phonetic thing, I guess...
