Hi Steve

My great grandmother Ann Davies was born in the Union Workhouse Wrexham in 1853. Her mother was Frances Davies with no father mentioned although on Ann's marriage he was given as William Davies.
I appreciate that only adults are on your list and wonder if Frances's name was mentioned as I cannot find her on any census with her daughter or her possible husband and I am not sure if any of the possible Ann Davies's are mine.  This has been a brickwall for me for several years.

thanks for your help

hello peter,
i am afraid she isn't on the list, there are a couple of marys and a margaret, but no ann or frances, there are no male davies' either, i did have a look at nearby workhouses also. ie chester, ruthin and harwden, just in case, but nothing there either.
this, of course doesn't mean she wasn't there as my list is only those who have had 5 or more continuous years there. she may have been in and out over that period.
sorry i couldn't be of more help.
good luck in your search
