As you said earlier Middlesex doesn't really fit well as Samuel worked and died in Sheffield, have you been able to find them all on census records or maybe a marriage for daughter Mary in Sheffield?

On freebmd there is a marriage for a Mary Ann Bamford, Sheffield District q/e Mar 1850 vol 22 page 526

Hi mary married sydney pashley in 1851 but it is down as mary bamforth he was my g/great grandad hopefully it was a mistake in the spelling babs

Hi the name is mary bamford seen the birth cert of eli pashley born 1858 sheffield and on the census says she was born middlesex london babs
