Bakewell PRs? Abraham Waterfall 1803
« on: Wednesday 04 May 05 15:30 BST (UK) »
I have found Abraham Waterfall in Colchester in 1851, from which it seems he came from Bakewell in 1803 +-1, nothing on the IGI for him.

I'm hoping the PRs have been indexed/transcribed & that some kind person would find out his parents/siblings (allegedly there was a brother Joseph)

Abraham married Ann Peake in 1831 in Horncastle, Lincs should that info be needed for elimination.

Fingers crossed...
Doreen

Hello Doreen,

I came across these on the IGI, may be your family but please check!

     Christening - Abraham Waterfall - 16th Sept 1798 - Bakewell
Parents - Joseph & Ann Waterfall

also listed with same parents :-

     Christening - Elizabeth Waterfall - 25th Nov 1796 - Bakewell

                          Joseph Waterfall - 1st Feb 1801 - Bakewell

                          Hannah Waterfall - 5th Sept 1802 - Bakewell

This also may tie in :-

Marriage - Joseph Watterfall to Ann Sheldon - 17th Nov 1795 - Bakewell

Hope this turns out to be of use.

Regards
Sue    :)

Thank you for replying, Sue.  Yes, I also found that one, but he would be at least 5 years older than the one I am looking for, based on 1851c info. Unfortunately he seems to have died before the 1861c and am still searching for him in 1841c (they moved about a lot!)

I have since found out that they may have been Quakers, and don't know if their info is on IGI at all. Quaker records don't seem to be generally available, and this branch is not such that would justify shelling out for their FHS membership & CDs.

Cheers
Doreen
