IM LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON GROVE PIT AMROTH.

I KNOW MY GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER WAS KILLED THERE WHEN SINKING A SHAFT IN 1856, FROM A REPORT IN THE PEMBROKESHIRE HERALD.

WHERE CAN I GET A COPY OF THE REPORT OF THE H.M INSPECTOR OF MINES FOR AUGUST 1856?

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GRATEFULLY RRECEIVED

Hi Ti'm,

Have you tried http://www.cmhrc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/deaths.htm

Ian Winstanley has compiled this database of mining accidents, and is very helpful. He may have the details you are looking for.

Best regards,

Let me know if you are still looking for details on this accident. I have extracted some basic data from these HM reports for this and several other local pit accidents and can forward these to you.
