Searching for the ancestors of Henry PIERCY, born 20/3/1820 in Kilrush. Joined the Indian Army in 1838 as an Ensign in the 2nd Queens Regiment and finished up as a Paymaster Major in the 37th Regiment in 1850 when he retired. Served in India and Ceylon.
Later served in the Crimea as a member of the Turkish Contingent. Died 1/2/1888, in Tatsfield, Surrey aged 67 years.
Married Matilda Anne Temple BELLEW 19/10/1847 at
St Georges, Hanover Square, London, and had Frances Matilda Stuart who married Robert William COX, Rosalie Ellen Emily Mary who married William Villiers GRANTHAM, and Francis.

An entry in the Limerick Chronicle stating that a son had been born 24/3/1819 to John Piercy in Leadmore, Kilrush might be relevent.
