I just found the marriage in swansea, but the problem is that her death at death was burgess and not her married name, unless she revered back to it..? but if so i still can not find a birth for that date as burgess.. unless the person giving the information on her death did not know her right age, or she may have forgotton her own age which was/is common..

The Emma K Burgess married 1940 in Swansea district....

but she was probably divorced as I found a 2nd marriage in 1949 for Clifford E Stoute (deceased)

There is also a child born in 1943

found the 1940 marriage and is the same surname of the husband as the 1949...but could not find his forename was not available.. but she would have had to go back to her maiden name at death, which is possible , but that leaves with the wrong birth year...


in fact the marriage in 1940 is exactly the same names in 1949

What is your relationship to her?  If it is via her son - is he still living?

If she divorced - she may have reverted to her maiden name

Until you get the death cert it's impossible to say
