Thats it seagers,! all it needs is the right prompt and things start coming back, I suppose at 82 it,s expected that memory needs a bit of exercise to keep it going, as I live in weston-s-Mare, will probably try to get across and spend a couple of days in Cardiff and go to the library and look things up, give me a chance to have a look around at some of my past place, although I understand that my school, spltt boys, is long gone, ahhhhh memories, what would we do without them, Thanks for the info. regards, Mike Evans

Hello Mike  :)

Good luck in Cardiff and enjoy your trip down memory lane!  If you can't get there for a while you could contact the library by telephone or email, as they will normally provide a photocopy of the obituary for a fee. Obviously you need a date of death plus the name and address to help them to find the correct reference.

Let us kno how you get on?
Kind regards
Morgan

If a burial took place in a municipal cemetery in Cardiff then contact Thornhill crematorium site as records are now digitalised and they will search for you.

A little caution with FHS monumental inscriptions, if a grave has / had no headstone then that information was not picked up by FHS unless they actually took information directly from the church / chapel burial records, I am pretty sure that municipal cemetery records won't appear on any FHS records

Hello Splottboy,
Greetings from Cardiff.Regarding the bungalows on Newport road/Colchester avenue,I'm sorry to disappoint you but they were demolished quite a few years ago now.In there place are a load of retail units.Still if you haven't been here for a while you will see massive changes.

Hi, I hope someone may be able to help me locates the grave of my Grandparents? They are buried in a joint grave somewhere in Whitchurch, Cardiff - details as follows:

William Evan Davies died 11/9/62
Dorothy Maud Davies died 28/1/58

I have these details confirmed but the exact cemetery/church is proving a problem!

Thanks!
