Roger & Joan RICE ---mid 1700s
« on: Sunday 04 September 11 09:40 BST (UK) »
Dear Listers

I am trying to help my family find out more about ROGER & JOAN RICE.

Previous help from OPCs traced that they had two children - Thomas baptised 30/9/1777 and Jenny baptised 21/1/1782 in Peter Tavy near Tavistock.

I am trying find out when Roger and Joan married and what their birth dates were in order to see if I can go back further into the RICE family line.

I know that the RICE family eventually moved from Devon to Cornwall but am trying to find out more about ROGER and his family.

Any help that you can give would be appreciated

Robbo

The Devon FHS can provide marriage indices 1754-1837 for all of Devon by surname. You also need to search burials for the parish in which they lived to see if an age at death was quoted. I did locate a burial for a Roger RICE 21 Nov 1792 at Peter Tavy. Unfortunately no age given.
See http://www.devonfhs.org.uk/indexes.htm

Any help appreciated
