1871; CARBON - Burton-on-Trent, Staffs
« on: Friday 18 June 04 22:07 BST (UK) »
I am searching for my g-grandmother, Kate or Catherine.  She was born about 1863 and may have been living with Robert Carbon's family in Burton on Trent.  In 1881, there was only one Carbon family in Burton and I expect the 1871 census to include:

Robert Carbon (27)
Jane Carbon (28)
Margaret Carbon (5)

Thanks

Roy

Thanks Pauline

My search for Kate seems to be getting nowhere.

I had a scratch around and found Agnes Hardy aged 18 wife's daughter living with William & Caroline Fell.  In 1861, Agnes was shown as living with Thomas and Ann Hardy, Jane Carbon's parents and Caroline (baptised 1834) was an elder daughter not at the house at the time.   Can somebody tell me where Caroline was in 1861?

In the 1871 census, there is a Catherine Hardy aged 10 (a bit old for mine) as a visitor to a house where Ann Hardy aged 25 (a bit young for Thomas's Ann baptised in 1839) is working as a servant.  Can somebody tell me where Ann was in 1861?
