I'm also interested in Limerick Hanrahan's.  My grandfather was James Francis, seaman as was his father, Michael James.  I have at least two other cousins who were Captains.  The sea seems to run through this family.  The family was centred around St.Mary's church and I have some details of their tree.  I'd like to explore and see if there is any connection.

You might be interested in www.irishmariners.ie for information on Irish seaman where you can also obtain a copy of their registration papers which include a photo.  There are a dozen or so Hanrahan's including Charles Hanrahan, Master, born 11 Jan 1882 Limerick.  He may have been a son of your Charles??
