Thanks Kiltaglassan and feesca1,  I got your PM Fiona but I learned I can't PM you back until I have done 3 postings.  So, this is #2.  My grandfather Owen Matthew Leonard was born in Boston in 1874.  His father John Leonard was also from Reengaroga.  To be continued...

Posting #3:

My Great Grandfather John Leonard born about 1844 in Reengaroga.  I am pretty sure my grandfather Owen had a cousin Eugene who still lived on or near Reengaroga.  I would like to PM with you about all this.  It seems like we must be cousins.  I hope this 3rd posting enables us to Private Message.  Thanks.

The official name is Ringarogy Island. Here's the townland of Donegall West on it, with Donegall Middle and Donegall East further to the east.

Might this be Leonard relations in the 1901 census in Donegall Middle (Cape Clear)?

Thanks,Kitaglassen. Yes! The Leonards you found for 1901 with Owen as the head of household is on the right track.  I think that Owen is a cousin.  I haven't sorted out which generation yet.  There are a lot of Owens in the family!  I'll be following up on the other leads you posted (Anna and Bridget) as time permits.  Thanks so much.  The search continues!

Hi,
When I was very small my Mum used to talk about Leonard’s as cousins. We lived in Hertfordshire in the UK.
My Mum was Bridget Bohane 1918-1998
Her father was Peter Bohane 1864-1944
Her mother was Ellen Bohane ( nee Hegarty) 1877-1955
They were all born in South west Cork and the family farm going back to around 1800 was in Killaderry about three miles south of Skibbereen in the parish of Castlehaven. Their land was owned by the Townsend Family of Castletownsend until about 1888 when they bought it back.
The town lands mentioned in other posts are very close to Killaderry.
I’m at a loss as to how the Leonard’s might be linked to us as I have twenty years of research with lots of help from The Skibb Heritage Centre🌟
I do have a great Aunt Catherine Bohane born about 1866/67 whom I have not been able to find and assumed she may have died as a child. Can any one make any links to this.
Sorry it rambles on !
