Thank you so much; do you think the missing word might be something to do with being a Commercial Agent?  In other Census Thomas is listed as Agent or Commercial Agent.  I am not sure what a Commercial Agent would have done other than act as the middle man between producers and those requiring the products or materials.  Any ideas?

1861 census says "Iron and Insurance Agent".
