IGI in familysearch have a baptism for George, 9.6.1781 Wylam Northumberland
below it lists him married to Elizabeth Hindmarsh in 1820 Newburn
and his death in 1848.
This is member submitted info so not always correct.
Another entry has his wife as Frances Henderson??
Another entry has his father as Robert and his mother as Mabel Carr.

George Stephenson was born in Wylam, 9th June 1781.

As gnu points out, Wylam was in Ovingham parish and he was baptised there 22 July 1781 according to this family tree. His parents were Robert Stephenson and Mabel Carr.

Hello gnu,   thank you so much for the info and i have looked in Ovingham for Georges bap but not there but i did find Robert son of Robert and Mable Stephenson of Wylam bap 1788, April 27.  I am trying to find a John Stephenson born abt 1789 the younger brother of George.  Regards Gladys.

 Hello tina and Jennifer, thanks for your messages which i appreciate it.  Am looking for a bap for a John Stephenson born about 1789 younger brother of George the rocket man which ave looked in Ovingham but nothing all i found was a baptism for a Robert son of Robert and Mable Stephenson of Wylam bap1788, April 27.  Regards Gladys.
