Yes - I can find it in 1841, 1851, 1861, but not after that.

Hi Huwcyn

I noticed on the 1861 that it was ED 4 - have been through all of the 77 pages of that ED in 1871 but can't find it. I may have missed it because some of the pages are quite faint.

Also, noticed on the 1861 that it comes between Lord Quarry and Tan y graig.

Lord Quarry on 1871 begins at RG10/5697/41/73 and Tan y graig begins at RG10/5696/64/36 . Again, I looked around that area but I've not found so far  :(

I don't see it on the 1901 list either. Do you have it post-1881?

Will have another look tomorrow. I do recall that the Ffestiniog pieces seemed to change at some stage but can't remember how/why  ::)

Hello,
I was wondering which family at Hafodfraith, Festiniog were you interested in? It seems there were 2 residences; the Pennys in one and the John Jones/ Anne Thomas family in the other. I am interested in the John Jones/ Anne Thomas family.
Best,
Joan

Its a while since I posted this !. I can't remember exactly why, as I have very few Ffestiniog interests. I think it may have been a branch of a 'Foulkes' family. I'll post again once I get clued up again.

Do a general search for "Hafod Fraith Festiniog"; several answers including "ruins of".

The Penny family and descendants existed in Ffestiniog at least until the 1960s; Hafod Fraith may have succumbed to the growing piles of quarry waste in which case the previous residents may have moved house. Don't give up.
