Hi Chris...I have just come across your posts and am absolutely fascinated at what you are doing.
I travelled to Scotland from Australia in search of my ancestors and when I finally made it to St Josaphs Cemetary Airdrie....darn if it wasn't flooded and I wasn't able to do anything except several recent family gravesites.
I was so disasppointed...however, now I have you as an answer to my prayers.
I am interested in
McGuigan
Smyth
Burns
Queen
MacAuley
Callaghan
Marley
Dowdalls
I think youo are doing a wonderful service and I thank you in advance.....MWAAAA

Hi Morag.

Thanks for the kiss  :-* Bear in mind these are from 1860 to 1883

McGuigans first (Yellow boxes mean there was no entry made in that field or I could not make out or I was not sure what was recorded.)

Smyth

Burns

Queen

McAuley (no MacAley's recorded)

Callaghan

Marley

Dowdalls

No Dowdall's recorded yet

Cheers

Hi Morag,

Just contact me again. The admin would go nuts if I posted updates. I update the years on the cemetery FACEBOOK website page...http://www.facebook.com/StJosephsCemeteryAirdrie.

My family left Ireland during the famine of mid 1800's and settled in Coatbridge. They are all in this cemetery. I retired two years ago and began this project. Its tough going and a bit tedious, but Ill get there. Its taken me a year to do 23 years of entries. I should be finished when I reach 80.  ;D

My family too, McGuigans, left Ireland mid 1800's to Airdrie.

Scattered now all around the western world so I am trying to give my grandchildren an idea of where they come from.

I'll keep an eye on facebook.

Bless....Morag

I would be very grateful if you could check if there is a burial record for Mary Lambie/Ferguson/Little who died 7 January 1869.

Many thanks.

Thanks for checking for me.  I was going to go to the cemetery but as I didn't expect there would be a stone, I hoped the lair book would give me the information I am looking for. I have already checked the stones at Holytown cemetery without success and there isn't a lair book for that time.  I guess I may never know.

Well done with the job that you are doing!

Thanks for that.

I have no record from the lair books for a Mary Lambie or Little between the dates 1860 and 1883. I do have ony one Mary Ferguson.

Thank you for having another look for me.  As I am fortunate to have Mary's death certificate to confirm her date of death, I can only guess that she is buried in Holytown Cemetery.  It is disappointing that there are no records.  You have been a big help to me.
