My wife's father (P.C. Adams) raced MGs during the period 1933-1936 and I'm trying to trace the races in which he competed.
I know he raced at Donington Park, England in 1934 as I've been lucky enough to find a programme listing his entry.
Checking the other likely venues for this era leaves me with Brooklands, Ards and Phoenix Park.
The Ards TT is resonably well documented on the 'net but I can't find any competitor lists and I don't know if there were 'support races' in addition to the TT inself. My father-in-law was friendly with contemporary racers such as Eddie Hall and Freddie Dixon who competed in the TT.
I can find no records of races at Phoenix Park - does anyone have knowlege - or better still, programmes - of these events?
The only clues I have is that he raced an MG Midget or a K3 Magnette (a rare car and well-documented, I believe there were only 33 built) and he was hospitalised after a crash. He said this was reported in the local newspaper which is probably true as crashes were regarded as 'bad form' in those days! He also said that the most famous of drivers, Nuvolari, visited him in hospital.......
I appreciate this is a long shot but hopefully there are enthusiasts who may be able to help?
It'd make my wife very happy to discover more about her father's history.
He died in 2005 but wrote down most of what I've described above.......except for the track details!
Many thanks.
