Hi All - would appreciate any assistance in finding Neil (Mc)Gillies (b. c.1799/1804) AND Mary McLeod (born 1810?) - Portree, Skye, Scotland. These are my 3rd Great Grandparents. They married about 1825 (Portree) - and immigrated to Canada about 1831-33. We are unable to find any information on parents or siblings (nothing). When they arrived in Canada they changed the name to McGillis. We've a clue on the Gillies name as one of the son's names was listed as 'Gillies' in an offical Church record.
There children (to the best of my knowledge):
John; Rachel and Neil (all born in Portree) McGillis
Norman; Laughlin; Isabella; Mary; Angus; and Donald (all born in Canada) McGillis
