Your message is in the local magazine again for St Michael's and St Mary's,  so far no news

Today I went with a friend to walk around the cemetery in Corringham, a bleak damp day but there was 2 of us, my friend feeling sad at so many of her school friends buried in this cemetery, anyway since coming home I have discovered the following
Edith died on 09/03/1962 and was cremated on 14/03/1962, I do not know who the funeral director was but her ashes were taken away from Corbets Tey to Evesham which is possibly where her family came from, I haven't found out about William, I suspect he may well be in Evesham

Thank you for the extra information on Edith. It's interesting that her ashes were taken back to Evesham, which was indeed her birth place and where the Edwins lived. Where is Corbets Tey? Can I ask why you suspect William is in Evesham. I think I saw death for a William Finnis in Chelmsford, but would need to go back and check through my papers!.

It's great to hear the piece is still in the magazine, still hoping that someone may come forward with new information on the Finnis' from Corringham/Stanford.

Corbets Tey is in Essex, not far from Upminster, it  was the nearest cremetorium  for our area till Pitsea was built not so long ago. I would think that Edith requested to be taken back "home", unless there are wills it might have been what her family decided for her, she did have siblings

Well I did think perhaps William would have requested to have gone where Edith went after She was cremated, he died 1981 in Chelmsford, that is where his death was registered

They may have made wills with requests

Unfortunately no reply but I did ask as I know a lot worked for the oil refineries, pity it is so long ago, a couple said they knew the name but couldn't recall the person
