Having looked at the 1871 census-
Head of house -William Grinham
                        Charlotte Grinham
              Thomas Judd  10yrs

              John  Judd      12  ?
              Harry Judd       6
My understanding from family history and 1901 census is that Thomas’s brother was Henry.
The 1881 census
Head of house Charlotte Grantham
                     Thomas Judd 21
                     Harry Judd     15
Do you think it’s a matter of spelling mistakes or am I on the wrong track ,any feed back would be much appreciated,

I think the way to solve my mystery is to obtain a copy of the marriage certificate of my great great grandfather -Thomas Judd and his wife Mary Ann Holland .Have you any idea as to how I can go about this ?

The best place to get certificates is the GRO unless the image is online somewhere. 

You would need to register and then select 'Place an Order' and use the following details

I think that Charlotte's first husband William JUDD could have died and Charlotte JUDD nee CRANHAM remarried in 1865,
