Hunt for my "Hunt's"....suggestions needed!!
« on: Saturday 17 September 11 19:10 BST (UK) »
Suggestions needed for the ten year persue of my two orphans.

EMMA HUNT born 11/7/1868....Hampnett, Gloucestershire.
Last recorded whereabouts Spinster working at Parsons Mead School, Surrey in 1911.

ELIZABETH ANN HUNT born 4/5/1872 Woodchester, Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Last known working as a Cook at "Woodlands", Woodham Lane, Byfleet, Chertsey.

These two girls have links with George Muller Orphanage, Bristol, in which I have purchased their files.

I have full recorded timeline from birth to 1911 , and after  1911 have even listed all possible marriages for the next twenty years, but is like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Deaths I have tried to tally any possible age and names on the GRO index.

Have any of you rootschatters have any suggestions on how to further my research.

Or does any possible marriage or death stand out to them on the GRO Index.

Much appreciation .....Helen x

Hi Helen

It might be worth trying to find School records for Parsons Mead School in case they show when she left. Is this school at Ashstead?  I am not too good on this part of Surrey  I don't know if Croydon library covers this far out.

I can only think of electoral registers for Woodlands, Woodham Lane, Woodham - they should be at the Surrey History centre.  I realise that women were on them in the early days but she could have continued to work there for some time,  I see Woodlands is still standing as per Google earth.

Sorry I can't be of more help

Rosie

Thank you so much for the ideas.

I think a trip to Surrey is needed for the electoral roles.

I will google earth Woodlands to have a lookie, but the Parsons Measd school records no go as she was a servant working there and not a pupil.

Regards again....Helen x
