Elizabeth Bennett c1791, Dorking?
« on: Tuesday 20 September 11 10:08 BST (UK) »
Elizabeth Bennett m Justinian Moss 1823 @ St Mary Newington.
Their children were all baptised in Mitcham except one who was born in Tooting Graveney.
She was living in Mitcham in all the following censuses.
1841 - she was "born in County"
1851 - birth place N.K (not known, I assume)
1861 - birthplace Dorking, Surrey

1864 - died, buried in Mitcham.

Does anyone have access to Dorking PRs that could check for a baptism for me on the off chance that she was actually born there?

Many thanks

Sue

On 20 Jan 1789 Elizabeth Bennet baseborn daughter of Hannah was baptised in Dorking

Also on the same day Hannah Bennet baseborn daughter of Hannah was baptised.

On 28 May 1789 is the following burial:

Elizabeth Bennett dau of Thomas and Hannah.

So it is a bit confusing.

Thanks for looking Brian

It certainly is confusing - there are trees on A******y with that Elizabeth and I wondered if there might have been another daughter born later also named Elizabeth .... obviously not.

My Elizabeth didn't name any of her children Hannah or Thomas.

I'm wondering now if "Hannah" jnr called herself Elizabeth... but I doubt I'll ever know!

So Elizabeth still has a question mark over her head!

Thanks again

Sue
