Ancestry has this transcribed as Ireland.  I don't think it's that, but I also can't make out what it is  :-\

It's the second line down.

The area is Leek, Staffordshire.  The 1951 census ref is HO107, Piece: 2008, Folio: 169, Page: 6

And the enumerator has put that thick black line in the last column which they often do to say the person was born outside of England(or Wales)
