Ok thanks for that I couldn't find the dates covered
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Thanks Davidft and Shane,

I am trying to find the death dates of my Donegal aunt and uncle. They died between 1970 and 1981.
If I can track down dates I can get death certs.

I am having no luck so far!

Regards
O

Maybe you could get the dates for a local newspaper on somewhere like http://www.irishnewsarchive.com/donegal-news.php
on second thoughts a death notice is more likely to be in one of the national dailys maybe the Irish Independant would be worth a look.

Thanks Sinann,

The paper does not cover the years I am looking at.

I find it hard to believe that there is not an easier way to find BMD for someone! Surely others must have same problem.
I know a year or 2 ago I found an official gov site that led me to a choice of dates for my aunt.
Too many deaths of the same name to choose from. Now I have more info to narrow field and cannot find site!

Ah well that`s life!

O

granted you have to pay.

Hi,
Once again no publications available for me.
Looking up newspapers is dependent on someone placing an item. I looked in the past and never foun a death notice.

Do you know where they are buried, if someone here lived near the graveyard they might be willing to have a look for the head stone for you. You try asking in the Donegal forum.
