Owner of No 2 Shalone Rd Briton Ferry
« on: Monday 26 September 11 18:05 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to track down the owner/Resident of 2 Shalone Road Briton Ferry in the period 1914 to 1929 is there a way of doing this?
I am trying to track down a grandmother who I believed lived there, she was married a number of times so could be listed as Nutt, Reynolds, Woodward or O'Flaherty

Tried tracking using freecen but got no hits

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Neil,

Checking the Electoral Rolls is probably your best bet...

I'm not sure though where the ones for Briton Ferry might be located though, - but I'm sure that someone on here will know(!)

Romilly.

Hello Neil  :)

This link provides details of ERs at Glamorgan Record Office:

Modified - think Briton Ferry would come under Neath.

Kind Regards
Morgan

I think they may be held in Swansea records office. I remember asking in Port Talbot Library for them about a year ago and they told me they were held in Swansea.

Bridgend records office has quite a few sets of ER's, but I don't recall seeing anything for the Port Talbot area

Thanks halfasleep, did an online check of holding of Glamorgan archive at Swansea, and it pointed me to West Glamorgan Archive in Carmathen, looks like I am heading west

I'd ring Swansea if I were you as I think that's incorrect - seems a bit odd that they would hold info that far out when Swansea archives hold quite a bit of info there.

Someone on here is bound to have looked at the records at some point, so they would be able to tell you anyway

Not a problem probably going to be going to both Swansea and Carmathen as need to do some research on Llanelly records as well

Thanks

Hello Neil  :)

West Glamorgan Archive is at Swansea Civic Centre, on the sea-front :

http://www3.swansea.gov.uk/CalmView/Aboutcatalogue.aspx

Briton Ferry Electoral roll will not be at Carmarthen record office, but Llanelli probably will.

Kind Regards
Morgan
