More for completeness rather than startling new info, but WJR is named in the London GAzette on 18 Oct 1925 in relation to his father's probate.

nothing - which is why I said "I bet you havent found him in the 1901"

have you gone back with his parents to earlier generations?

Hope you don't mind me going sideways - to try to find him on the 1901 census, I started looking for his siblings and I suspect I have his sister Julia with her husband Frederick Vann

No sign of WJR though!!!
