Eastbury in Gloucester

Hi -

I have found a reference to an Eastbury village supposedly in Gloucester.  More specifically associated with Stow-On-The-Wold.  As being "near" or as a "small town ... a few miles from here [Stow-On-The-Wold]".

I have only been able to locate an Eastbury in Berkshire which is neither "near" nor "a few miles from" Stow-On-The-Wold (in fact over 40 miles away).  I have checked Google Maps, bing, Ordnance and Old Maps to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bit of a long shot, but there is an Idbury about 5 miles south east of Stow

Do you have any other information that might help identify the place?

Hi Linda -

Thank you for the suggestion.  It doesn't seem to fit.  The only other reference was to a pharmacy so I image it was a village with a little high street and more than 40 houses as the Idbury website cites.  I have the feeling this is "Eastbury" is an error or someones made it up.

However, I just may have a lead to the "author" of this phantom village after staring at this monitor all day   and will attempt to get him or her.  It may take a while, but if I get anything from this lead I will post it here.

I have finally tracked down the written source and find that there was an error and the place does not exist.  Mystery closed!
