Hi ,

I know it's a while since this post was active but I found a few items that may be of interest.   An advertisement on an old shop in Inchigeelagh ( about 18 miles from 70Farran) and also an aution catalogue from July 1970 which I found recently, for the sale of contents of Clarke's House at Farran.   I remember my parents attending this auction.

Thanks again Mary, the sale catalogue looks interesting, I recently found one for the sale of paintings at Allerton Hall, Liverpool, by the estate of Capt W R Clarke's father Thomas Clarke, in 1926.  That catalogue was marked up with initials showing that a lot of the items were bought in by members of the family - any such indications on this one?  I've collected a few old Clarke Tobacco signs! Hi Martin-Woodchurch!

Had a look at the catalogue, no indications as to initials on cutlery or ware.  A few interesting items -

Silhouette - Mr. Appleton  1815
Silhouette -  E Wainwright  1832
Oil Paintings -  A Quiet Retreat, Surrey F. W. Hulme  1860
                   -  Shepherdess & sheep  C. Westerbeck 1900
                   - Beech Trees in Autumn by J. W. Oakes A.R.A  1853  ( Large oil)
                   - Dutch Quay Scene by M. Tenkate  1862
Pair of Lithographs of Alleton Hall

Lots of silver items e.g table centre piece  177 ozs
A huge collection of silver cutlery.
Some beautiful bookcases, a rosewood and ormolu mounted escritoire of Louis XV design and lots of other classic items.

There are 35 pages in all, under various categories.
