Hi

In a newspaper report of 1824 a Stephen Stone of Gillingham was accused of murdering his brother John Stone, he was imprisoned for 4 months for manslaughter.

Looked at the baptisms on an****ry, I think it could possibly be that he was baptised at Dorchester Gaol.

Hi Claire
Thanks for that is there any other info,  say perhaps age or anything,
I have seen the record you mention, and am trying to work out why she would be there, as Stephen Stone would  not be there when Aaron was baptised in 1827

Hi

On an ****ry there are four criminal records of a Stephen Stone, Dorset. The last being in April 1827 for counterfitting coins, but he was aqcuitted and the trial was in Poole.

No ages were given on any of the records, there may have been more than one man by the name Stephen Stone's as there are four marriages between 1820-1830, three in Gillingham, one in Poole.

No age is given in the newspaper report.
