found this is George's service records.

The initials R.O. certainly don't match any of the names on the grave!

I have checked the online records and can find very little. A funeral application form is available for a fee, but I doubt it would shed any light on things.
Interesting though was that the boys name appears on the headstone with the name pressley first - a check of the records shows that pressley was in fact his christian name, while the others have pressley as thier surname (possibly a cousin who had been cared for by the family?)

just that the pic i including George's wife wrote that in 1988.

Details are as follows,

 Andrew Pollack Pressley, 37 yr old  d.o.d.  25/05/1911 SOUTH FREMANTLE   

 MERCY LLOYD  PRESSLEY  72 yr old  d.o.d. 15/03/1952 SOUTH FREMANTLE 

 PRESSLEY DAVID  JOHNSTON  6 yr old d.o.d.   08/05/1939    GOSNELLS     


Just a thought here about these three, Andrew and Mercy were both of a similar birth date, so possibly could have been man and wife, now if mercy remarried and had a child that would explain the different surname and also being given the first husbands surname as a christian name. But it still doesn't explain where george fits in.

Hi Denn & Lisa

Andrew Pollock PRESSLEY & Mercy Lloyd nee TAYLOR were married probably not in WA, they had at least three children.

Charles Henry PRESSLEY b 1902, Minnie Ellen Rose PRESSLEY b 1903 & Ruby May Isabella PRESSLEY b 1900.

The R Edmunds in the letter, could be Ruby or Rose.

One of the sisters more than likely married a JOHNSTON.

So that is why George was buried with them, but i wonder where Ruby was buried. I also wonder if they had any children.

Also on the web link was a Mary Ann which might be George's sister, but dont know for def.

so pressley david johnston is minnie's son.
