William Dunn abt 1794/6
« on: Sunday 02 October 11 16:21 BST (UK) »
William Dunn.
Can anyone help find the birth / baptism/ christening details of my ggg grandfather William Dunn.
Several census entries indicate he was born Berwick-Upon-Tweed in about 1794 - 1796 although as we know this could be a year or so out.
To date I've not been able to find anything on the free sites. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Rob.

On Scotlands People there is only 1 William Dunn around the years you mention in Berwick.
He was born/christened in May 1794.  (Coldstream).
That might be him.

SP is not free although very reasoable. £7 for 30 credits.  6 credits would get you the document.

Thanks for that information. It looks promising and a strong contender. I'll try to follow it up with a certificate and look into it futher.
Sharon - I'm not sure how I missed this entry in family search. I'm used to the system and did try that website. I'll have another look and see where I went wrong.
If it's the correct William he married Ann Miller at Embleton in Northumberland and subsequent family were all based in Northumberland.  There are other family connections with Cornhill which is just across the Tweed to Coldstream so it's looking a promising find.
Thanks again for your time and efforts.
Rob
