Hi Nigel.

Well you know your own history  sorry I have put the wrong marriage.

There was no marriage at Spratton or Brixworth Parish Churches
for John and Sarah.

I did find 2 baptisms though.

Spratton Parish Church.

April 14th 1861 Agnes to John & Sarah, Spratton, Shoemaker.

Pg. 60. No. 475
May 10 1863 (Born Febry 10 1863) John Edward to John and Sarah,
Spratton, Shoemaker

Sandy,  The marriage was registered 1860 in the Brixworth registration district which it seems covers a large area, So perhaps they married elsewhere, where they were less well known as they already had a child out of wedlock?

John Crier was a shoemaker before turning his hand to farming.  so those bapts. are the right family.

The John & Hannah one is not one of my lot as far as I know?

I think the last child to be baptised to John and Sarah in Northants was Emma 1866 the next child Alfred 1868 was bapt. in London. I have trawled the 1871 census manually but cant find them in London, but they were there.

Christened in Northants:-
Agnes b1860
Charles William b1861
John Edward b1863
Mary Ann b1864
Sarah Ann b1864  (uncertain.)
Emma 1866
The poor women had 14 children.

The baptism in 1841 I thought was John's the husband of Sarah.

Not like me to give in-correct information to folk so sorry once again.

Sandy, my apologies        you are of course correct, it is the Bapt. of John husband of Sarah , it is my lot, sorry I read it as 1861    too many things on my mind, trying to do too much ! I'm in Hospital tomorrow (Wed) for a minor operation.

I looked at Scaldwell for the 2 marriages ( John Crier and James Tyrrell)
not there.
