Hi Pauline,

Smith and Ann's first child was born c1816, so the marriage may have been c1816.

Smith and Ann's children are:

Jane 1816
John 1819
James 1821
Robert 1824
Caroline 1827
Sarah 1830
Mark 1833

I have found baptisms for 6 of the children in Caldecote, but I can't find a baptism for Jane.

What was his occupation? Any indication that he might have been in the army, and was serving in Ireland where he married?

On the 1841 and 1851 census Smith's occupation is listed as Ag Lab.

I haven't found any info to suggest that Smith may have been in the army. The only info I have is a baptism for Smith and the census info. I did wonder if Smith and Ann married in Ireland and if Jane was born in Ireland. Jane was born c1816 but I can't find a baptism for her, although she does state on the census records that she was born in Cambrifgeshire.  ???
