David Gwynne
« on: Sunday 09 October 11 16:51 BST (UK) »
On the latest available data David Gwynne is listed age 59 years with birthplace of Aberschan, Monmouthshire.  Married 16 years.  For whatever reason I can not find him on the 1891 census, can anyone help locate him from the 1901 census details below; I’ve omitted younger children who due to their ages will not show on 1891 returns.
David Gwynne, head, 49, coal hewer, b. Monmouthshire
Elizabeth, wife, 47, born Thornbury, Gloucester
Harry, son, 21, coal hewer, born Pontypool
Thomas, son, 15, coal hewer, born Blaenavon
George H, son, 12, born Blaenavon

I would appreciate any help and advice

Hi Isobelruss
Thanks for the details; Apart from the surname Gwynne being spelt with one 'n' there are certain similarities which suggest that this is the family.  I have been thrown off course with details on the latest census returns, especially in the column listing number of children born, living, dead etc.

Best regards
Roy
