Lookup request - Drayton, Berkshire

Hi - I am new to this list, came across the site when trying to find a baptism record for my great-great grandmother in Drayton, Berkshire.
Her name (from her marriage on 2-Feb-1822 in Hurst to James King) was Mary Ann ROBERSON (though this may not be the correct spelling, could be Robertson, Robinson, among others!) According to the 1851 census, she was born in Drayton, approx 1793 (her age in 1851 was given as 57, and she was buried in Reading in July 1857 age 64.
I would love to find out who her parents were, so I can trace this line further back.

I've looked at the Drayton parish register transcript - courtesy of OFHS.   I cannot see any obvious candidate for you I'm afraid - using as many spelling variants that I can think of.

As Drayton St Leonard is on the same CD, I checked there as well - nothing.

Hi

There is a very poor survival of Drayton P/Rs before 1813 and there do not seem to be any baptisms for Roberson/Robertson etc.

re the marriage for Abram Robertson,he would appear to be a "Clerk" as in Holy Orders (ordained 1778 Christchurch Oxford) is he yours ?

Many thanks for the replies. I didn't know that there are few surviving baptism records for Drayton prior to 1813, so I guess I will never know for sure, but the marriage of Abram Robertson and Jane Bacon is interesting, the timeframe is certainly right, so I will note them as 'possible' parents!.
Are there any burials for either Abram or Jane Robertson in Drayton? - I checked the Hurst records, couldn't see anything there? Or for any other ROBERTSON/ROBINSONs?
Also forgot to add that I have the birth certificate of her last child, born in 1839 after Civil Registration, where the surname is given as ROBINSON.

No buriels but Jane seems to have died in 1802 and left a Will,which is what made me queery if they were yours.

It is deffinately ROBERTSON though

Where did you find this will? - I looked on National Archives and Ancestry but can't see a match, would like to look at the details if possible as it may mention children........

Sorry, meant to say the reference is from the "Index to the Probate Records of Oxfordshire 1733-1837 and the Oxfordshire Peculiars 1547-1856"

The Will is in the Oxfordshire Record Office under the reference quoted.

They do photocopies (for a fee !) and will give the cost if you e-mail them at
