Alfred King born Ross
« on: Tuesday 18 October 11 17:41 BST (UK) »
Could someone please do a look-up on the 1901 census for Alfred King born 1895, Ross, Herefordshire. His mother’s name is listed as Bagley Louisa on his army service records.
Thanks, Roy

A search for Alfreds of that age, bn Herefordshire, with mum called Louisa (any surnames) does not reveal any with surname King or Baggley or anything similar to either.

A search for Alfred King of that age bn Herefordshire without specifying his mum brings no findings.

Have you got him in 1911?
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

Hi
The details I have are from his service records and his mother's name is written as Bagley Louisa not Louisa Bagley.  I must admit if it is meant to be her christian name, it is very odd.  I haven't got the 1911 census.

The only other detail from his records is that they were residing at 1 Milton Terrace, Brithdir when he enlisted in 1915 aged 20 years of age.

There is a marriage in 1910 which might account for the King/Bagley surname:

Marriages Dec 1910
(possible spouses)
BAGLEY  George A
KING  Louisa
Bedwelty 11a 158

I see that his mother's name is given as Bagley Louisa on enlistment, and Louisa Bagley later in the service papers.

Thanks Rambler
I found some of his service papers difficult to read and hadn't noticed his mother's name the other way round 'Louisa Bagley' make sense and the details for the marriage looks good.
