Photo dating please

Hi,

I have received this photo, but it has no name on.

We are summising that it is my Gt-Grandfathers' cousin, Anastasia Ellen O'Keefe, who died aged 25 in Cardiff, Wales.

Can anybody date the photo for me, and perhaps guess the age of the young lady in the photo and see if they tie in.

Anastasia was born in 1885.

Lovely photo Darin...the daters will need to see the back if you have the original....I would say she was in her early 20s.

That's better...Jim or China may be along later...It has an 1890s feel to me but I would wait for the daters to give their valued opinion.

Agree with Carol,if this was who you think it is it would have to be 1905-10 which it isn't.
Her dress & hair style & the style of card would suggest early - mid 1890's.
She's showing off her engagement ring which may be a clue.

I've had a thought then.

Maybe it isn't Anastasia, but possibly her mother, Elizabeth O'Keefe (nee James) (1879-1967).

I have one photo of her in old age.

She is 3rd from the left on the front row of this photo.

Looking at the original picture, I think it looks like her, as she has quite a large gap between the nose and the top lip.

The same as on the photo in old age.

Do you think it could be her?

Sorry, my mistake - Elizabeth James was Anastasia's sister-in-law.  (not her mother)

She married John O'Keefe, Anastasia's brother.

The photo came from the family of another brother, Timothy, so I doubt they would have a photo of Elizabeth on her own.

Anastasia did have 2 older sisters - one born in 1872 and one born in 1876.
