Hi

Well if you tossed out the occupation and were just to search, have you found anything that way?

Sorry, but to truly identify this Joseph without a birthplace, occupation, family info (mother, father, siblings) etc etc the search would just be too broad and would offer little more than pure speculation.

Well, I have guesses as to family members, but I don't know as fact that they are the right names. haha Did you want them anyway?

Yes, let's take a look at the names because if I am unable to help you then perhaps somebody else might be able to ;D

Is the Joseph Hughes 20 Baker J from a census? Were all those people listed living together? Not sure what that record is.

Yes this is from the census and the people listed are living in the household when the census was taken on the Sunday/Monday 6th/7th June 1841.

Regards

Z :)

Oh forgot to say Welcome to Rootschat ;D ;D

Thanks for the welcome, Z. :) I'm double-checking my guesses before I try to offer them to you. :)

Wilcoxon, thank you so much! That is definitely one thing I was looking for. :) Is that obituary available to view online? And do you have any more information for it?

Wilcoxon, is it not unusual for that time period for people to not show up in the census?

I suppose some people  were missed out on the census,  nothing is ever 100%  for certain.

Name and date of the paper it was published in.
The newspaper extract is as it was written, no other information.

He might be in St Giles burials registers, they may give an occupation.

The actual death certificate  should give  cause of death and who registered it,.

Thank you so much for that information. I'll look into finding a copy. Do you happen to have the link to the Wrexham Advertiser with that obituary? I can't seem to locate it at all in any searches on Google.

Update:

I have received my copy of Joseph Hughes' death certificate. I wanted to post the information here in hopes that I might get some help in finding out any more information, particularly where exactly he worked and his family members. Hello  :)

John Hughes is unlikely to be related because he was the Registrar, but Samuel could be related to Joseph. It is worth looking for Samuel in Brymbo in 1861/71 but we don't have enough information to prove any relationship because the names are fairly common.

Brymbo is not far away from Minera where there was mining activity for metal ores, including lead. During the century prior to the outbreak of WWII, 13% of British Lead was produced in north east Wales, but Minera Company ceased in 1914. Silver was extracted from the lead ore galena, so perhaps Joseph was involved in this work.

Kind regards
Morgan
