Looking for James Murray Death Record - Born 15 th March 1880 (but varies)
« on: Saturday 29 October 11 15:39 BST (UK) »
James Murray married Bessie Albertine Smith Lambach in Davenport. Iowa 20 th April 1924.
Have James on the 1910 Census unmarried/WW1 Draft/Marriage/Naturalization/ Passport Application and on the 1930 Census. Although the marriage record stated Bessie was widowed, this seems to be an error because her husband Hugo remarried in Spokane in 1923.

Looking for the DEATH RECORDS - The last sighting of James and Bessie was on a New York Passenger List from Southampton to New York on the 5th October 1936 - going to 3210 Harbour View Drive. Point Loma, San Diego. California.

Looking for the PASSENGER LIST England to Canada - The 1910 Census indicates he immigrated in 1908 - would appreciate if anyone can find the passenger list for James travelling to Canada.  According to the Naturalization document he travelled from Canada and crossed the border at the port of Eastport. Idaho on the 14 th August 1908 (quite possibly - no record for that entry)

Thank You
Sandra

Hi Kevin,

Yes, the passenger lists don't give alot of detail but the year and occupation are correct and Idaho features a little later in his life. He also went through Canada. You have found him. Big thank you.

Many Thanks - thats really great  ;D

Hi Sandra:

According to the California Voter Registrations, they are both still living at the same address in 1938, 1940 and 1942.  Don't see them in San Diego County in 1944.

There is a Mrs. Bessie A. Murray living in Los Angeles County in 1946, but she is a Republican.  (In 1940, Bessie stated she was a Democrat.)  Address in 1946: Marco Place, No. 945, City of Los Angeles.  She is the only Murray on this page.

I don't see her in 1948 or 1950.

Hi Lisa,

Thank you very much, you are a star - again  ;)  So maybe James has died between 1944 - 1946 and Bessie has moved on and changed her allegiance.  Feel I have seen "Marco Place" before but haven't a clue where or when  ::)

All the best
Sandra  ;D
