Wolverhampton St Peters - Alcocks/Richards
« on: Sunday 30 October 11 01:27 BST (UK) »
Hi

I wonder if some kind soul could look up the marriage of Joseph Alcocks & Sarah Richards that took place on the 13th December 1824 at Wolverhampton St Peters.

I am trying to ascertain the parents of both Joseph & Sarah.

Thanks

Hi

In 1841 Joseph & Sarah are shown as aged 30 and living in Bradley, Bilston, Wolverhampton. It indicates they were not born in Staffordshire.

In 1851 Joseph, aged 46, is a forge millman living in West Bromwich and gives his birth place as Aston, Warwickshire . Sarah, aged 46, shows Madeley Wood Salop as her birth place.

In 1861 Joseph, aged 57, is an iron foreman; living in West Bromwich; and gives his place of birth as Bilston Staffordshire. Sarah, aged 54, shows Madeley Shropshire as her birth place.

I believe Joseph died in 1865 in West Bromwich.

In 1871 Sarah, aged 68, again shows Madeley Salop as her birth place.

In 1881 Sarah, aged 70, shows Elsmere Shropshire as her birth place.

Any hints about climbing this brickwall would be much appreciated.
