1891 Census look up please
« on: Sunday 30 October 11 15:53 GMT (UK) »
Could someone please help me by finding James Williamson c 1841 and his wife Margaret c 1844 in the 1891 census and if possible Margaret in 1901.

There was a son William but not sure of age and a daughter Christina c 1883.

James died in 1895 and Margaret in 1910.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Betty

Hi Betty,

I'm not sure if this is the correct James and Margaret but it is the only result that I got for Moray in 1891. Any clues as to where they were born?

Maverston, Urquhart, Moray

James Williamson, 50, Road Labourer born Elgin
Margaret Williamson, 45, born Inverness
Isabella, 14
Annie, 10
Christina, 8
Robert, 5     all born Urquhart

Couldn't find Margaret in the 1901 Census, maybe someone else will have better luck than me  :)

Hi Elaine

Thanks so much for sending me the 1891 and 1901 censuses.

At the moment I am not sure if they are the correct ones but I will check some things out with Scotland's People to see if I can confirm it.  Going by the reading on the grave stone that I have Christine was their youngest daughter which to me means there was another daughter so the family in 1901 are perhaps Margaret's grandchildren.

If they are I have several names to add to my tree.  I see there is also a niece mentioned.  I wonder if that is William's child.

I will also check with Libindx(Morayshire site) to see if the McIntosh's are registered.

Thanks again

Betty
