Do you have an approximate year of birth / place of birth?  Do you know any of his siblings or his parents names ...
Eccles (Hoylake / Exeter / Plymouth)
Hicks (Devonport, Plymouth)
Grafton (Exeter, Devon)
Harris (Marazion, Cornwall)
Collard (Yeovil, Somerset)
Johns (Devonport, Plymouth)
Lyle (Bude, Cornwall)

Hi

Norfolk constabulary have a histiry site listing all officers who served in the Norfolk County Constabulary between 1854 and 1959.

http://www.norfolk.police.uk/aboutus/ourhistory.aspx

There are only 3 Booty's listed.

Booty Alfred George
Booty Arthur George
Booty William

If one of these is the Booty you are after, then there is an address that you can contact for more information.

The name BOOTY is fairly common in Norfolk (my dad's first wife was an Ellen BOOTY), so unless you can find out a little more about Robert, your chances of finding him may be quite slim.   Coincidentally, Ellen's father was a sergeant in the police force, but he retired in 1920, and had 3 daughters, so none of his children would have continued the occupation.

Best Wishes,  Nick.
